This money origami shirt is a great example of how you can have fun with money but it doesn’t involve shopping.
It is quick to make, easy to recognize, and gratefully accepted by its recipient.
With less than 10 folds, you can make someone happy with just a single dollar!
Instructions for Money Shirt
Fold the dollar bill in half lengthwise. Unfold.
Fold the dollar bill into quarters.
Fold the top of the dollar bill back. Make the crease right at the border where the money is white.
Fold up the bottom-third of the dollar bill.
Using the crease made in step 2, fold the left and right edges of the dollar bill inwards.
Fold back the top-edge of the dollar bill one more time. This will be the collar of the shirt.
Fold the top corners of the dollar bill inwards at an angle (join the green dots). See next picture for guidance.
Peel open the bottom of the dollar bill. Fold out only the top layer. Allow the crease line to extend from the bottom corners to the raw-edge of the dollar bill (see step 5 to locate edge). This will be the sleeve of the shirt.
Bring up the bottom of the dollar bill and tuck the bottom edge under the collar. Press down to establish crease.
Your money shirt is done!
Dollar bill shirt looks great if you start with the green side facing up too. The shirt on the left is made by placing the green-side of the dollar facing up. The shirt on the right is made by placing the black-side up.
