About the Author and Fabric Origami

Glenda Scott In the summer of '92, I was visiting Los Angeles and discovered some brightly colored papers with instructions for folding origami, the Japanese art of paper folding. I purchased several packets of paper and some booklets explaining the folding process.

Returning home, I ran through the paper supply rather quickly. I liked paper with small prints but the prints I liked were on cotton broadcloth. The problem was to stiffen the fabric enough to fold it. After finding a solution, I realized the tremendous potential this process held.

Since then, I have taught numerous workshops hosted by art organizations, art centers, a community college and related specialty stores throughout the Pacific Northwest. The students are very enthusiastic and wonderfully inventive. They are an inspiration.

Glenda is now retired and no longer run workshops and has shut down her online store.
