Below is a list of a few models I designed over the years that were included in my solo exhibit:

Origami For the 21'st Century

A progressive display of original origami models by Jeremy Shafer
McHenry Library, University of California at Santa Cruz April 1994

All of the models in this exhibit were designed and folded from one square without cutting or glueing. The two color effect found on most of the models was achieved by using paper with a different color on each side. The mediums used are paper, Japanese foil, tissue foil, copper, brass and stainless steel. The tissue foil was made by laminating tissue paper onto both sides of aluminum foil. The metal sheets are called 'shim stock' and can be found at any large hardware store or ordered from a sheet metal dealer.

The models here are an accumulation of ten years of folding. I began folding origami when I was ten. Starting out with 'playground folds' (cootie- catcher, crane, balloon, etc...), I quickly moved into folding advanced models after discovering the book, Origami for the Enthusiast, by John Montroll (my mentor), the only book I used for my first five years of folding. Although I developed my technique from this book and regard it as sacred, my main passion has been designing my own models -- prying into unfolded territory. My focus centers on folding ideas, concepts and scenes, rather than just objects and animals.

The following is a list of the exhibit models (in no particular order).
